The start of the season is close at hand.
POTTSTOWN PA – The Lower Pottsgrove Athletic Association (LPAA) begins accepting registrations for its 24th season tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009) from 6-8 p.m. in the upper lobby of Pottsgrove Middle School, 1351 N. Hanover St., Pottstown PA. Boys and girls in grades 3-8 interested in playing recreational basketball are eligible to enroll.
Registration costs $45 for players in grades 3-6, and $50 for grades 7-8. Cash or checks will be accepted. Checks must be made payable to LPAA Basketball. Registrations must be accompanied by appropriate medical release forms. For more information, call 610-970-2175.
LPAA enrollment continues at the middle school this week on:
- Wednesday (Oct. 28 ), 6-8 p.m.;
- Thursday (Oct. 29 ), 6-8 p.m.; and
- Saturday (Oct. 31), 9 a.m. to noon.
The season officially starts Nov. 28 (2009).

The season starts Nov. 28.
POTTSTOWN PA – Although its 24th season won’t officially start until Nov. 28 (2009), the Lower Pottsgrove Athletic Association (LPAA) will begin accepting registrations Oct. 27 (2009; Tuesday) from boys and girls in grades 3-8 interested in playing recreational basketball, LPAA Director Jim Kaiser said Thursday (Oct. 15, 2009) in an e-mail.
Registration and medical release forms and accompanying fees can be delivered to the upper lobby of Pottsgrove Middle School, 1351 N. Hanover St., Pottstown PA, on these dates and times:
- Oct. 27 (Tuesday), 6-8 p.m.;
- Oct. 28 (Wednesday), 6-8 p.m.;
- Oct. 29 (Thursday), 6-8 p.m.; and
- Oct. 31 (Saturday), 9 a.m. to noon.

LPAA is a local youth sports program that “continues to grow year after year,” Kaiser said. Its staff “looks forward to another great year providing a fun and educational basketball season,” he added. Directors for the program include Kaiser; Steve Klotz, 7th and 8th grade boys director; Rusty Bealer, 7th and 8th grade girls; Chuck Bleakley, personnel; and Brian Carroll, facilities.
