How much will the total amount to? You can’t tell by looking at the school board agenda online; its dollar value has been left blank, and likely will be filled in at the time of a vote.

The portion of the law that allows young adults to stay in their parents’ health insurance plans until age 26 is unhealthy for the Pottsgrove School District, according to its business administrator.

There’s good news and bad news in the budget updated provided Tuesday to the Pottsgrove Board of School Directors. State funding may remain unchanged, assessed property values are slowly building, new hires should cost less … all good. Health care costs? Not good at all.

After Pottsgrove school board members officially reorganized, and after they heard from a committee and concerned parents about redistricting options, their talk turned to next year’s preliminary budget. It contained a proposed increase in property taxes.

West Chester schools, which provided the Pottsgrove School District with its model last year for a community budget task force, will convene a new task force and launch next year’s budget process extra early … in mid-September.
