Tolls on Pennsylvania highways, like that discussed during the past 18 months for U.S. Route 422, represent a long-term fix for the state’s road repair and improvement woes, the transportation secretary said.

A report from the state Transportation Funding Advisory Commission, to be delivered next week to Gov. Corbett, is in part expected to recommend approval of enabling legislation that would allow highways like U.S. Route 422 and others to be tolled.
