Looking For A Job? Check Pottstown Facility May 18

SANATOGA PA – A career fair that will host what is estimated to be 50 area employers, offering job opportunities from entry level to executive positions, will be held May 18 (2011; Wednesday) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Sunnybrook Ballroom, 50 Sunnybrook Rd., Pottstown PA, a spokeswoman for the TriCounty Community Network announced.

The event is the latest project to result from the network’s partnership in a workforce development program with Exelon Nuclear, Montgomery County Community College, and the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce, according to Karen Higgins. It also intends to do more than simply bring employers and the jobless together, she said; it will additionally conduct three different workshops for job seekers to help prepare them for their interviews.

The Pottstown-based network is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving health, social and environmental conditions in western Montgomery, northern Chester and eastern Berks counties.

Job prep workshops are scheduled for:

  • next Thursday (May 12) from 6-8 p.m. at the offices of Boyertown Area MultiService, 200 W.Spring St., Boyertown;
  • next Friday (May 13) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the YWCA Tri-County Area, 315 E. King St., Pottstown; and
  • again at the YWCA on May 17 (Tuesday) from 4-6 p.m.

People interested in attending a workshop should call TCN at 610-705-3301.

Career fair sponsors, Higgins said, include Exelon, Sunnybrook Foundation, the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, the Montgomery County Workforce Investment Board, and The (Pottstown) Mercury newspaper. Employers interested in participating should call Don Stewart at 610-326-2705.
