Cruze Dealers, Local And Beyond, Enjoyed May Sales
DETROIT MI – General Motors’ Chevrolet Cruze last month posted its best retail sales figures since its launch, the automobile manufacturer reported Wednesday (June 1, 2011). Chevy dealers, including Fred Beans Chevrolet of Limerick PA, Kelly Chevrolet Inc. of Phoenixville, and Quigley Chevrolet of Bally, reported a total of 18,996 retail deliveries for May 2011.
The GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Equinox, GM’s compact crossovers, saw a combined retail sales increase of 58 percent, also during May, GM said. Passenger car and crossover retail sales rose substantially too, up 32 percent and 17 percent, respectively.
Overall GM claimed its United States dealers reported 221,192 total sales in May, which were down 1 percent because of lower fleet sales volume. Retail sales for GM brands were again propelled by the company’s lineup of fuel-efficient vehicles, it said.
