PDIDA, High School Interns Improving Shopping District

POTTSTOWN PA – Local high school students have teamed up with the Pottstown Downtown Improvement District Authority (PDIDA) in summer internship programs designed to keep the borough’s central shopping district attractive and appealing, an article in the Roots of Pottstown Revitalization blog reported Sunday (July 10, 2011).

“Lindsay Hayver, a junior at Pottstown High School, is responsible for a clean-up crew that meets every other weekend to gather litter in the borough,” and “young artists such as Jaira Kurtz, who is a senior at Pottstown High School … will be working with businesses and designing murals as advertisements as a way to market downtown,” PDIDA Chairman Sheila Dugan told Roots.
