Bank Honors Sanatoga Native For Civic Contributions

SANATOGA PA – Doris Solomon, an 84-year-old Pottstown native who was born, raised, and still lives on and care for horses at Sunnybrook Farm in Sanatoga village, has been named “customer of the month for September” at the Sunnybrook branch office of National Penn Bank, 1830 . High St., Pottstown PA.

The initiative recognizes customers who have made community contributions through their work and civic engagement. During the past 40 years, Solomon has volunteered as a horse riding instructor for Montgomery County 4-H clubs. She has a life-long passion for horses, and has adopted three retired police horses from the Philadelphia Police Mounted Patrol Unit.

“Her concern over the welfare of horses is remarkable,” branch manager Hanna Hartman said of Solomon. “She has dedicated so much of her time to this cause — we are fortunate to have her as a customer.”
