New Android App Benefits Pottstown Motel 6
POTTSTOWN PA – Motel 6, the national lodging chain that includes a franchise unit at 78 Robinson St., Pottstown, as well as in King of Prussia PA, said it is “continuing to build its online presence” with the introduction Monday (Nov. 14, 2011) of a free app for the Android-brand mobile operating system for smart phones and other handheld devices.
“The new Motel 6 App will make it convenient for Android users to search and book rooms at more than 1,100 locations in the United States and Canada,” the company said. Android ranks as the leading mobile platform, with a 41.8-percent share of the U.S. smart phone market, according to a recent report from comScore Inc. Motel 6 launched a similar app for iPhones in June, which has generated more than 25,000 downloads.
The Motel 6 app uses a smart phone’s built-in global positioning satellite data to locate the closest motel location available. It can also search locations by city, state, or airport code. Once a Motel 6 location is identified, the app provides guests with specific information about amenities, brand policies, property images and daily rates, and enables guests to book rooms.
