Pottstown’s Hill School Grad Voted MD Head Of School

Stephen Brotschul

COLORA MD – Stephen J. Brotschul III, a 1990 graduate of The Hill School in Pottstown PA and who currently serves as associate headmaster at The Kiski School in Saltsburg PA, on Saturday (Nov. 19, 2011) was named the next head of school of West Nottingham Academy, Colora MD, in a unanimous vote by the academy’s board of trustees, it announced in a Sunday night (Nov. 20) e-mail.

Brotschul’s appointment ends a national search process that began in this spring, when current Head of School D. John Watson said he would be leaving after 10 years at the academy, according to the announcement. Search Committee Chair and Trustee Kendall Cameron described Brotschul as “a visionary school leader who is committed to boarding schools, and in particular, to the mission of West Nottingham.”

Brotschul has 15 years of experience as an educator in independent schools. He has served in a variety of roles including dean of students, director of admission, and art teacher. The Brotschul family will arrive on campus, and Brotschul will start work, in July 2012, the school said.
