Pottstown Man Injured During Hit-And-Run In Sanatoga

SANATOGA PA – What is being described as a “newer model gray or blue compact car” – the make and year haven’t yet been identified – and its also unknown driver are being sought by Lower Pottsgrove (PA) Township Police in connection with a hit-and-run accident that injured a pedestrian Saturday (Jan. 7, 2012) near the CVS Pharmacy on East High Street in Sanatoga.

Gerald Yerger of Pottstown PA was struck by the vehicle Saturday at about 10:30 a.m. as he was crossing Sunnybrook Road on East High Street, the intersection where the 24-hour pharmacy is located, according to Lower Pottsgrove Ofc. Ryan Smith. Yerger’s foot was run over by the vehicle and sustained injury, Smith reported.

Witnesses to the accident said “a heavy-set white female who was wearing glasses” was driving the car, Smith added. The report did not mention in which direction the car was traveling, the extent of Yerger’s injury, or where it was treated.

Smith, who is continuing his investigation, is seeking the public’s help. Anyone with additional information is asked to call the department at 610-326-1508.
