POTTSTOWN PA – Weis Markets Inc., which operates grocery stores in Pottstown, Gilbertsville, Oley and Pennsburg, has activated a new digital coupon program with the help of a vendor, the Inmar Promotion Network based in Winston-Salem NC, the company said Wednesday (June 12, 2013).

The new eCoupon program allows registered members in Weis’ Preferred Shoppers Club to access and “clip” paperless coupons at the grocer’s website. Coupons are added to the cardholder’s account and automatically redeemed at checkout when the required purchase is made and customers present their Weis Club Card or card identification number.

The eCoupon program is in place at all 164 Weis Markets’ stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey and West Virginia, according to Inmar. Adding paperless coupons to its marketing portfolio is part of a nationwide response to the rapidly growing demand for digital promotions by shoppers, it added. “Our eCoupons program helps us conveniently reward shopper loyalty and drive sales.”

Inmar also provides Weis Markets with processing for its paper coupons and manages both their reverse logistics (front store) and their store pharmacy returns program.

Weis was founded in 1912 as a Mid-Atlantic food retailer.
