Community Garden Thankful For CARES Volunteer Work

Community Garden Thankful For CARES Volunteer WorkTIDYING UP THE COMPOST, AND OTHER VALUABLE EFFORTS – The Mosaic Community Garden in Pottstown benefited from work done during the recent Pottstown CARES community clean-up event organized by the borough, the Pottstown School District and The Hill School, its blog reported Saturday (Nov. 2, 2013). Mosaic officials said more than 70 volunteers spent a portion of the day at the garden, 423 Chestnut St., and collectively donated hundreds of manpower hours to organize its compost pile, set up for cold-frame gardening and install “a beautifully decorated bench.” Additionally, streets and alleys surrounding the garden were cleaned, swept and manicured by CARES volunteers. “We thank you for your relentless efforts in making downtown Pottstown a beautiful place to work, live, play and grow!,” the blog added.
