Restaurant Owner Rose Group Bestows New Award
PHOENIXVILLE PA – The Rose Group, which operates Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar restaurants in Pottstown and Royersford, and the Corner Bakery Cafe in King of Prussia, has named Dexter Volpe, its director of people development, as recipient of its first chairman’s award.
The award recognizes a company member who has shown dedicated leadership and outstanding passion for the business. The presentation was made during an annual ceremony held in The Phoenixville Foundry.
Volpe is a 16-year veteran of The Rose Group. He began his career as an Applebee’s general manager in 1997, and was promoted to training manager in 2001. Three years later, Volpe was named director of training, and in 2005 was recognized as the company’s “Associate of the Year.” He was promoted to director of people development, his current position, in March 2006.
The Rose Group, headquartered in Newtown PA, is the 35th largest restaurant franchise company in the United States. It currently owns and operates 58 Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar restaurants; was the first franchisee for Corner Bakery Cafe; and also co-owns and operates three Shannon Rose Irish Pub restaurants in northern New Jersey.
