Magazine Features Ciders From Boyertown, Phoenixville
BOYERTOWN PA – The tasty and drinkable hard cider products of two local beverage companies – Frecon’s Cidery in Boyertown and Blue Marble Beverages in Phoenixville – are featured in a September (2014) Main Line Today magazine online story by Amy Strauss, titled “Hard Cider Craze Owes Craft Beer Big Thanks.”
Frecon’s business, begun in 2010, is a “logical extension of (that) family’s longtime fruit-growing business,” Strauss notes, and also reports its orchards have grown in size this year by about 10 percent.
Of Blue Marble’s Chris Firey, she writes, “he wanted to step outside the beer industry” after jobs at the at Victory and Manayunk brewing companies. His cider line “uses local organic apples and ages in French oak barrels,” the author adds.
The article arrives as Frecon Farms continues to be part of the vendor line-up at the weekly Collegeville Farmer’s Market in the parking lot of DaVinci Pub, 217 E. Main St., Collegeville PA. The market is open Saturday (Aug. 30) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
