Boyertown Man Cited In Local Wine Store

20140708-Latest-PoliceBadgeSANATOGA PA – A 56-year-old Boyertown man was cited Sunday (Nov. 16, 2014) at 4:49 p.m. for public drunkeness after employees at the Wine and Spirits Store in the North End Shopping Center, 1300 N. Charlotte St., declined to sell him alcoholic products, Lower Pottsgrove police reported.

Rodney R. Farris was refused service after coming into the store and attempting to purchase liquor in a state of “obvious intoxication,” police Sgt. Tim Walters said. Farris displayed very bloodshot eyes, a staggered gate, and the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, according to the sergeant.

Walters credited Farris with being “cooperative during the encounter with police.” After being issued the citation, Farris was given a ride home by another person, his report noted.
