Santa Coming To Boone Homestead Workshop
BIRDSBORO PA – A second annual Santa’s Workshop and Holiday Bonfire will be held Dec. 13 (2014; Saturday) from 6-9 p.m. at the Daniel Boone Homestead, 400 Daniel Boone Rd., its representative Amanda Machik said. The ticketed event is open to the public.
Volunteers at the historic site, the 1734 birthplace of the famed frontiersman, will transform its Wayside Lodge into Santa’s workshop. Young visitors can help Santa make 18th Century toys and crafts by the warmth of the roaring fire. There will be plenty of photo opportunities with Santa, so bring a camera.
Visitors also are encouraged to join the Homestead Carolers around the holiday bonfire while enjoying complimentary hot chocolate. Candlelit Boone House tours will be offered throughout the evening. See the Boone House festively decorated for the holiday season, and learn about English and Pennsylvania German Christmas celebrations.
An admission fee of $4 per person will be charged for all adults and children age 5 and older. Children younger than 5 and members of the Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead members will be admitted free; no other discounts apply. No pets or smoking is allowed. For more information, call 610-582-4900.
The program is sponsored and operated by the Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead. A Dec. 20 rain date is planned if needed.
