Oley Gallery Features Works By White
OLEY PA – “Distances,” an exhibition of recent works by artist Lauralynn White, will open Feb. 1 (2015) and run weekly on Sundays from 1-4 p.m. through March 22 in Clay On Main, a non-profit artists’ cooperative at 313 Main St.
An opening reception is scheduled Feb. 1 from 4-6 p.m., with a snow date planned for Feb. 8.
White is described by the curator as one “who brings to her work a vision of humanity in the natural world. She expresses her core belief in the necessity of living in harmony with nature through her sublime yet powerful fusions of the human body with the earth. She believes there is an inherent oneness in all things and pursues that as a reality in her work.”
White holds a BFA in illustration and art history from Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah GA. She is a juried member of the National Association of Women Artists, and a juried studio artist and gallery director at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in Reading PA. She has exhibited in national and international exhibitions and has been a juror for Albright College and YorkArts.
Clay On Main offers, classes, workshops, and gallery space for local artists. It houses a complete clay studio, an encaustic studio, and a photographic darkroom. For more information, call director Dolores Kirchner at 610-987-0273.
