Delay Possible Next Week On Route 100 South

POTTSTOWN PA – Pottstown area commuters who drive south daily on Route 100 toward Exton may find lane restrictions next week on at least one portion of the journey due to highway construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said Thursday (March 19, 2015). “Backups will occur,” it predicted.

20150228-Latest-RoadConstructionAheadCrews from PennDOT contractor Allan A. Myers LP, involved in road widening, will close one lane in both directions next Monday through Friday (March 23-27) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. across Uwchlan and West Whiteland townships between Sunrise Drive and PA Route 113, the agency said.

The construction is part of the $17.4 million project to expand 100, also known as Pottstown Pike, from two lanes to three in each direction. Crews are widening northbound 100 from Shoen Road to just south of Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue); and southbound 100 from just south of Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue) to Swedesford Road/Waterloo Road. The widening project is scheduled to finish in February 2016.

The work schedule depends on the weather. Motorists are advised to use extra care and allow additional time for travel.
