Frauds, Scams Program Set For Friday In Pottstown

POTTSTOWN PA – Local residents can learn about, and how to avoid being trapped by, today’s leading scams and schemes during a free educational program being conducted by the Pennsylvania chapter of AARP on Friday (April 10, 2015) from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Berean Bible Church, 2675 E. High St.

McGill reports the seminar will cover insurance and investment fraud, identity theft, and other cons that target people age 50 and older. Consumer protection experts will be available to answer specific questions, and related exhibits will also be on display.

Advance registration for “Fight Back – Learn How to Protect Yourself from Frauds and Scams,” as the program is titled, is available by calling the AARP event registration line toll-free at 1-877-926-8300.

The driveway entrance to the church is located on East High Street across from Cutillo’s Restaurant, and next to the Beulah Land Swim Club pool. Free parking is available. The doors will open at 12:30 p.m., and light refreshments will be served.
