BRUSHES AT THE READY – Students from Pottstown High School and The Hill School spent a portion of Sunday (May 24, 2015) making a popular gardening spot even more eye-catching. They began painting a full-wall exterior mural near the Mosaic Community Land Trust garden at Chestnut and Washington streets. The mural was designed by Carrie Kingsbury of Birdsboro, and is made possible with materials and other labor donated by several sponsors, in addition to a special grant and fund-raising. The teens worked around, atop and below scaffolding erected for the purpose (above), to fulfill Kingbury’s vision of local residents happily toiling in the Pottstown community garden soil, surrounded by buildings of the borough. When their day’s work was finished, the group sat and enjoyed bowls of ice cream (below). The mural should be completed by mid-June, those involved say.
