Pottstown Area Company Looks At Expansion

POTTSTOWN PA – Officials For Valtech Corporation, an international manufacturer that has its corporate headquarters and research and development operations located on Lower Pottsgrove’s southeast side, are exploring the possibility of expanding their local facility by adding new laboratory offices.

Valtech worked last month (June 25, 2015) with representatives of the township engineering firm, Bursich Associates, to describe due-diligence preparations under way and discuss their potential needs, Bursich reported in an advisory to the Board of Commissioners during its July 6 (Monday) meeting.

  • Commissioners are scheduled to gather again tonight (Thursday, July 23) at 7 p.m. for their second meeting of the month at the municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd. Attendance is free and open to the public. A copy of the board agenda is not currently available on the township website, but will be distributed at the meeting.

Bursich told commissioners it offered Valtech its assistance with “alternative methods of constructing a building addition to minimize land development time and costs.”

Valtech has not yet committed to a local project, Bursich indicated, and other sites also may be under consideration. Although the company is headquartered at 2113 Sanatoga Station Rd. (above and below), it also operates a research and development center in Livermore CA, a manufacturing plant in China, and offices in Germany, China, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Many of its products are cleaning agents, molded polymers and specialty adhesives. They are used in high-tech industries like solar energy production, and medical device and computer hardware manufacturing.
