Recycling Services Center Closes For Repairs

POTTSTOWN PA – Recycling Services Inc., a comprehensive recycling collection center at 365 Elm St. that also is involved in alternative energy research and development, has been temporarily closed while its complex is cleaned and repaired.

Recycling Services started on Earth Day in 1971, as an offshoot of the Owen J. Roberts High School Ecology Club. It has grown steadily since, according to temporary operating manager Mark Zeleznick. Now crews must move out long-standing materials and patch visible holes. The company also has elected a new board of directors to oversee ongoing changes and ensure adherence to its mission statement.

The center currently aims for a mid-to-late September reopening date.
