Firearms Safety Class Planned For Pottstown
LEARN LAWS ABOUT FIREARMS, AND HOW TO HANDLE AND CHOOSE ONE – A firearms safety and awareness class co-sponsored by Montgomery County Sheriff Russell Bono, center, and county District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman, right, is scheduled to be held Sept. 30 (2015; Wednesday) from 6-10 p.m. at Pottstown Borough Hall, 100 E. High St. Bono and Ferman were joined in recently announcing the free class by Pottstown Mayor Sharon Thomas, left, and members of the borough police department. It covers several topics, including Pennsylvania laws pertaining to possessing firearms in Pennsylvania, understanding individual rights under the Castle Doctrine, safe handling and proper cleaning of firearms, choosing the right weapon and holster, and basic shooting fundamentals. The class is limited to 25 participants age 18 and older, and each receives a certificate of completion and a free gun lock. Registration is available online, here.
