NORTH COVENTRY PA – Volunteers of the Ringing Hill and Sanatoga fire companies are expected to join other firefighters from across western Montgomery, northern Chester and eastern Berks counties tonight (Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015) at Coventry Mall, at the intersection of Routes 100 and 724, for its annual Fire Prevention Week observance and equipment display.
Lower Pottsgrove Fire Marshal Lew Babel told the Board of Commissioners the event, which runs from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the mall parking lot, is open to the public and free to attend. Apparatus from both companies and many others is expected to be on site, along with demonstrations and information for families and children regarding proper fire safety techniques.
An emergency medical services helicopter also will be displayed, weather permitting.
Fire Prevention Week is nationally sponsored each year by the National Fire Protection Association. In addition to the Coventry Mall show, it is marked locally by fire companies who travel to the area’s schools and discuss fire safety with students.
