Expect 422 West Delays Again For Bridge Work

DELAYS DUE TO BRIDGE CONTINUING – The right lane on U.S. Route 422 westbound, between its Sanatoga and Route 724 interchanges in Lower Pottsgrove, will continue to be closed from Monday (April 18, 2016) through Friday (April 22) from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily so a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation contractor can place 27 concrete beams on the new bridge being built over the Schuylkill River, the department has reported. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for the lane closure when traveling through the area because backups may occur, PennDOT said. The operations are part of the agency’s $73.3 million project to rebuild 1.6 miles of 422 between the Sanatoga and 724 (Schuylkill Road) interchanges, and construct new bridges over the river and Norfolk Southern railroad tracks.
