Pottstown Man Arrested In Park After Dark

SANATOGA PA – A 22-year-old Pottstown man was arrested Saturday (April 16, 2016) at about 8:18 p.m. by Lower Pottsgrove police after he allegedly was found in Sanatoga Park with an illegal substance.

Jason Coppola, of the 1200 block of Doris Drive, Pottstown, was charged by Ofc. Scott Burnick with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Burnick reported he was on patrol at the township park when he “located a suspicious unoccupied vehicle” there “after dark,” according to a police department press release. In searching the area, Burnick said he found a man later identified as Coppola “sitting on the steps next to the soccer field.” In Coppola’s pockets, the officer allegedly discovered “a glass smoking bowl and a small bag of marijuana.”

Coppola was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville PA, the release stated.
