Railroad Offers Mom An English Tea Tour

Preparing for tea time aboard the Colebrookdale Railroad

BOYERTOWN PA – Struggling to think of how to treat Mom in an extra-special way for Mother’s Day? The Colebrookdale Railroad can solve your problem … but it’s not saying a word about it.

The non-profit railroad, one of the fastest-growing tourism attractions across Berks and Montgomery counties, is offering a traditional English high tea experience while it carries Mom and her loved ones along its Secret Valley Line. The train excursion and tea is scheduled to leave from Boyertown at various times on May 6-8 (2016; Friday through Sunday).

But in a unique promotion on YouTube, the railroad’s latest video doesn’t carry a single spoken word. It’s produced as an old-fashioned silent movie, in keeping with what the non-profit organization calls “the Edwardian splendor of our century-old coach.”

Cafe Coach riders, it indicated, will enjoy excellent views of Berks countryside scenery as they are treated to tea “in the finest English Tradition, including scones, tea sandwiches, and a dessert selection … (the trip) is the perfect memory making machine for a memorable Mother’s Day weekend.
