Borough Pair Seen ‘Stumbling In The Roadway’

SANATOGA PA – A man and woman, both of whom are residents of Pottstown, were arrested late Wednesday night (June 8, 2016) for alleged public drunkenness after they were found “stumbling in the roadway” at the south end of Pebble Beach Lane near Green Briar Court, Lower Pottsgrove police reported.

Police Sgt. Scott Weidenhammer, in a department press release, said he was on patrol within the housing community there when he saw Sarai Hill of Julie Road, Pottstown, and Joseph Eskridge of North Hanover Street, Pottstown, walking in a portion of the roadway and failing to move for oncoming vehicles.

The sergeant made contact with and identified the individuals, “and discovered they were both intoxicated,” he said. The two were taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville PA, where Weidenhammer said they were housed until they were sober.
