Pottstown, Boyertown Lose First Niagara Offices

POTTSTOWN PA – KeyBank, the Cleveland OH-based financial institution that paid $4.1 billion in October 2015 to buy First Niagara Corp. of Buffalo, said Monday (July 11, 2016) it intends to close First Niagara branch offices operating in Pottstown, Boyertown and Royersford as part of its consolidation effort.

Slated to be vacated and locked sometime this October (2016), KeyBank said, are branches at:

  • 930 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown;
  • 560 Route 100, Boyertown; and
  • 440 W. Linfield-Trappe Rd., Royersford.

They are included among a total of 106 First Niagara and KeyBank branches to be shuttered though early 2017 in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. Two other Pennsylvania offices, in Horsham and Emmaus, also will be closed.

In most cases, KeyBank officials claimed, a KeyBank or First Niagara branch is within one mile of the branch due to close.
