Boyertown’s Going To The Dogs Aug. 20

BOYERTOWN PA – Building A Better Boyertown will host its “Dog Days of Summer” on Aug. 20 (2016; Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with activities on North Chestnut Street, including live music, doggie pools, free nail clipping, food vendors, and doggie pretzels. It represents and opportunity for visitors – pets and humans alike – to explore downtown and locate water bowls set out by participating businesses.

Studio B Fine Art Gallery invites dog owners to bring their dogs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to have their photos taken by Tammy Snyder, professional dog photographer; admire the exhibit of dog illustrations by fine artist and photographer Sharon Merkel, and submit a favorite photograph of their dogs for its inaugural Dog Selfie contest.

Snyder will create a 4×6 photograph featuring four poses with dogs and their owners. The photographs will be printed at the studio and available for $10 each. Owners can then submit them or any other photograph they bring to the studio for a pop-up exhibit of dog selfies. Winners will be determined by Aug. 21 at 3 p.m., and posted on Studio B’s Facebook page.
