Sufficient Clean-Up Finished In Boyertown

BOYERTOWN PA – Global Advanced Metals USA Inc., an international supplier of tantalum metallurgical and powder products to electronics industries and others, has completed sufficient site-specific remediation for groundwater cleanup at its 650 County Liner Rd. operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection said Sunday (Aug. 7, 2016).

In a legal advertisement, the department’s Southeast Regional Office in Norristown reported the company “has submitted a Final Report … to demonstrate that the remedial measures taken are sufficient for attainment of the groundwater site-specific standard” for the County Line Road location.

Additionally, it stated the firm “has indicated that the remediation measures taken are sufficient to attain compliance with the groundwater site-specific cleanup standard established under the Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act.”

Tantalum is said to be a rare, hard, blue-gray, lustrous metal that is highly corrosion-resistant. Its main use is in electronic equipment such as mobile phones, DVD players, video game systems and computers.
