Vest Donations Protect Pottstown Police K9s

ENSURING THEIR SAFETY – Three Pottstown Police Department K9 officers – Kato, Jak and Taz, and their respective partners Cpl. Steve Hatfield, Ofc. Pete Yambrick, and Ofc. Jeff Portock – have received new bullet and stab protective vests with a total value of about $6,000, thanks to a donation from Vested Interest in K9s Inc., Chief F. Richard Drumheller reported Friday (Sept. 2, 2016) on the department’s Facebook page. The Massachusetts-based charity assists law enforcement dogs and their departments across the U.S., Drumheller said. Vested Interest received the money from a separate donor, a fund that collected more than was needed to help a retiring Ohio police officer keep his K9 partner in retirement.
