In a post that appeared Wednesday (Oct. 19) on its Facebook page, the department claimed they had positively identified Davis as the driver and sole occupant of a Kia Rio that was involved in the September accident to which they responded. At the time, according to its report, officers located Davis after the car “had struck a utility pole” that blocked the roadway.
Officers alleged Davis initially supplied them with with a fictitious name and denied being the driver of the vehicle, that they “detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the woman,” that she “was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia,” and that her vehicle insurance card was “determined to be fraudulent and homemade.”
After the accident occurred, Davis was rransported to a Reading hospital for treatment of injuries received during the crash. Officers who obtained a search warrant for Davis’ hospital care records determined she had “tested positive for cocaine and had a BAC of 0.19 percent.”
Police reported Davis faced preliminary arraignment Monday. No other information on the disposition of her case was immediately available.
