Pottstown Native Named Ricketts Center Director

POTTSTOWN PA – Jocelyn Charles, a life-long borough resident and a nine-year employee of the Olivet Boys & Girls Club‘s Ricketts Center at 640 Beech St., has been named as its full-time club director, the Reading PA-based non-profit organization announced.

Charles “brings to the position experience not only working with and mentoring our members at that site, but also with connecting to the community we are trying to serve,” Olivet Director of Advancement Rhonda Mauk-Hudak said. “We believe … she has the qualifications to move our Ricketts Center to the next level and continue to strengthen our commitment” to club members and the Pottstown community, Mauk-Hudak added.

A chartered member of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Olivet serves 3,000 members a year, 1,500 different participants a week, and 800 a day at eight club sites and six school sites in Reading, as well as the Pottstown location.

“I set a goal for my center to far exceed past programming and the daily attendance of kids at our facility,” Charles said. “I plan to do this by making it a fun and structured place for our kids to go daily.”
