Tree Drop-Offs Open Dec. 26 In New Hanover

AFTER CHRISTMAS, THEN WHAT? – New Hanover has stopped its practice of collecting Christmas trees from curbs in front of township homes, its Recreation Committee announced Thursday (Dec. 15, 2016) on Facebook. Instead, residents can drop off used and unwanted trees between Dec. 26 (Monday) and Jan. 27 (2017; Friday) at three drop-off points: anytime at New Hanover Recreation Center, 2373 Hoffmansville Rd., and the New Hanover Fire Company, 2154 Swamp Pike; or during business hours only at Hetrick Gardens, 2620 Swamp Pike. Trees will be chipped weekly at each location, it said. Some trash haulers may still pick up trees left at curbside, it added.
