Saturday Ramp Walker Cited For Intoxication

NORTH COVENTRY PA – A 30-year-old Pottstown man was arrested Saturday (March 4, 2017) by North Coventry police and cited for public intoxication, after he allegedly was discovered “walking in the roadway” of a ramp to westbound U.S. Route 422 near Route 100, the department reported.

Police said they responded to a call and made contact with a male later identified as Wilson Perez Jr., whose street address was not provided, while “he was walking on the ramp toward” 422. They ordered him to stop, according to a report, but alleged he “initially shouted expletives at officers and continued walking.” Perez “was acting erratically and showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance,” officers added.

Because police believed Perez “was a danger to himself and others,” the report stated, he was “taken into custody and housed at Pottstown Police Department until he was sober.” The summary non-traffic citation he received was issued when he was released.
