PennDOT: Road Repaving Coming To Route 113
KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Resurfacing of portions of Route 113 across Trappe Borough and Perkiomen Township, as well as through portions of Lower Salford, Franconia and Souderton, represent part of about 20 miles of state highway repair scheduled to be completed later this year in Montgomery County at a total cost of $4.5 million, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 6 office in King of Prussia announced Tuesday (May 9, 2017).
“These repairs will help increase safety and improve efficiency” on the roadways in the county, the agency said. PennDOT will mill existing roadway surfaces and repave the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface, it added. PennDOT anticipates all parts of the project will be finished by late October.
Among work included in the project is resurfacing of:
- A segment of Route 113, between Boro Line Road and Route 29 in Trappe Borough and Perkiomen Township; and
- A segment of Route 113, between Route 63 and Broad Street (both east and west) in Souderton Borough, and Franconia and Lower Salford townships.
Start dates for those segments have not yet been announced. However, a third portion – which involves milling and paving on Swamp Creek Road between Whites Mill Road and Upper Ridge Road in Marlborough Township – will begin Monday (May 15) and continue daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the following Wednesday (May 24). Lane restrictions are planned, and drivers should expect slowdowns there, PennDOT said.
Remaining work in then project involves repaving three road portions outside the Valley. Glasgow Inc. of Glenside PA is the general contractor.
