UPDATE: License Center Back In Operation

POTTSTOWN PA – That didn’t take long.

The Pottstown Photo License Center located at Commonwealth Auto Tags, 978 E. High St., has already re-opened for business, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said Wednesday (May 17, 2017), only 24 hours after it reported the facility was being closed for repairs over an unspecified period.

What PennDOT referred to on Tuesday (May 16) as a “facilities issue” turned out to be a burst pipe that created “pretty significant” damage, its spokesperson told Digital First Media. The agency, in a release, even suggested three other area locations at which Pottstown residents could complete licensing business.

The problem apparently now is fixed. PennDOT repeated its earlier apology, saying it regretted “any inconvenience” the situation may have caused customers.
