Valley Lane Restrictions Resume After Holiday
PERKIOMEN TOWNSHIP PA – Day- and night-time lane restrictions will be imposed immediately following the Memorial Day holiday, from next Tuesday through Friday (May 30-June 2, 2017) on portions of Routes 29 and 73, as well as Meyers Road for utility and construction activities, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.
The daily work schedule, according to PennDOT, affects:
- Route 29 between Miller Road and Harrison Avenue in Perkiomen Township, reduced to a single lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and also from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., both for utility relocation;
- Route 73 between Squirrel Hill Road and Perkiomen Creek Road in Skippack Township, restricted to a single lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for traffic signal conduit installation; and
- Meyers Road between Seitz Road and Miller Road in Perkiomen Township, reduced to a single lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for excavation and grading operations.
All traffic during construction will be controlled by flagging. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the construction areas. Slowdowns will occur, the agency warned.
In addition to the lane restrictions, long-term closures have been in place since May 2 on Plank Road and Otts Road in Perkiomen and Skippack townships. The work is part of PennDOT’s $11.2 million project to improve travel and safety at the intersection of Route 29 at Plank Road/Otts Road; the intersection of Route 73 at Plank Road; and the Meyers Road, Seitz Road and Township Line Road intersection in Skippack, Perkiomen and Limerick townships.
