Collegeville Church Plans Patriotic Ceremony
COLLEGEVILLE PA – The annual Community Patriotic Ceremony conducted by Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, which claims to be where the area’s first patriotic observances began following the Civil War, this year will be held July 2 (2017; Sunday) from 10:30-11 a.m. at the church, 532 E. Main St. The event is free and open to the public.
Refreshments will be served. Copies of the book, “Our Boys In Blue,” which tells the histories of 35 Civil War veterans buried in Trinity’s nearby cemetery, will be available for sale.
The ceremony will be preceded by a 9:30 a.m. worship service featuring patriotic music, and stories from the church youth group of their week-long Appalachian Service Project mission “on the other side of the Mason Dixon Line.” It also is open to the public.
