Mascaro Firm Donates $50,000 To Two YMCAs
WEST NORRITON PA – J.P. Mascaro and Sons, the Audubon-based company that provides contracted waste hauling and recycling services to western Montgomery County municipalities, is scheduled today (Thursday, July 6, 2017) to present the YMCAs of Pottstown and Audubon with $50,000 in part to help “a high number of kids who need additional learning support socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually and spiritually,” the recipients said.
There’s up to another $50,000 in matching grants waiting to be donated by Mascaro, according to a release from the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA, if other area businesses make similar donations.
Mascaro’s contributions are to be presented this morning at 10:40, following a tour of the Audubon facility at 2460 Boulevard of the Generals, an explanation of the Mascaro “RESPECT Program,” a meeting with pre-kindergarten class and summer day camp children to talk about the importance of recycling, and comments by officials.
Freedom Valley is the central organization in Philadelphia that oversees both YMCAs. It said a combined membership of 9,000 people live within a 5-mile radius of the Audubon Y, and the Pottstown facility at 724 N. Adams St., who could benefit from “affordable quality childcare” made possible by the contributions from Mascaro and other businesses and groups.
