This Hunt’s A Challenge Worthy Of A Governor
SCHWENKSVILLE PA – Join in a scavenger hunt, learn about local history, and earn chances to win prizes. That’s the premise behind a Friends Of Pennypacker Mills fund-raiser to benefit the Colonial Revival mansion and surrounding 170 acres of farmland once occupied by former Pennsylvania Gov. Samuel Pennypacker (at right) and his family.
The Pennypacker Mills Scavenger Hunt is planned for July 29 (2017; Saturday) from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Montgomery County historic site, 5 Haldeman Rd. Tickets for the event are available now and can be ordered online here, or purchased in person at the mansion, at a cost of $10 for members of the Friends and $15 for non-members.
Scavenger hunt participants will look for a variety of historic items hidden across the grounds, and collect a token from each stop in the hunt. Prizes will be awarded, and at the end of the hunt those involved can relax with a cold beer and light fare.
- This event has been added to The Schwenksville Post calendar.
The last date to buy tickets is July 22. Purchased tickets will be mailed by July 19; those ordered later will be held at the door. For more information, call the Friends at 610-287-9348.
