Helping Make The Borough A Nicer Place To Live

CLEANING UP SATURDAY AROUND POTTSTOWN – Injured but undaunted, Pottstown student athlete Elsie Cannell (at top) joined more than 125 fellow Pottstown School District students, athletes, coaches, teachers, and administrators (above and below) Saturday morning (Sept. 23, 2017) to clean borough streets and sidewalks as part of the annual Pottstown CARES (Community, Awareness, Responsibility, Empowerment, and Sustainability) Day. The effort represents a partnership between the borough, the district, and The Hill School, and intends to develop and sustain a service ethic that results in a collective sense of community pride. The team collected more than 200 bags of trash, according to Director of Community Relations John Armato, and “many neighborhood residents came out to thank the students for showing their community service,” he said.
