Single Lanes Ahead In Perkiomen Safety Project
PERKIOMEN PA – Day-time lane restrictions are scheduled next week on Route 29 and Meyers Road in Perkiomen Township, as work crews conduct utility and construction activities related to a safety improvement project, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
Expect these traffic changes, PennDOT reported:
- Route 29 will be reduced to a single lane between Miller Road and Harrison Avenue from Monday through Friday (Oct. 30-Nov. 3, 2017), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, for utility relocation; and
- Meyers Road will be reduced to a single lane between Seitz Road and Miller Road, also from Monday through Friday (Oct. 30-Nov. 3, 2017), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, for construction activities.
All traffic will be controlled by flagging during construction. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the construction areas. Slowdowns will occur, PennDOT warned.
Long-term closures on Plank and Otts roads in Perkiomen and Skippack townships still remain in place, the agency added.
Plank Road is closed and detoured between Routes 29 and 73 through late November. Plank Road vehicles are being detoured over Route 29, Haldeman Road, and Route 73. Otts Road is closed and detoured between Miller Road and Route 29 through May 2019. Otts Road vehicles are being directed to use Route 29, Bridge Street, Wartman Road, Township Line Road, Seitz Road and Meyers Road.
The work is part of PennDOT’s project to improve travel and safety at the intersection of Route 29 at Plank and Otts roads; the intersection of Route 73 at Plank; and the intersection of Meyers, Seitz, and Township Line roads in Skippack, Perkiomen and Limerick.
