PIAA Officials Give Pottstown’s Doyle Scholarship
GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP REWARDED – Tom Doyle, a member of the 2017 Pottstown High School football team, has been named the winner of the Art Andrey Scholarship Award presented by the Norristown chapter of PIAA Football Officials, Pottstown School District Director of Community Relations John Armato announced. The award is annually given to the player who consistently shows ultimate sportsmanship both on and off the field; an athlete who is observed showing complete respect for coaches, teammates, his opponents, and officials. Attending the presentation were, from left, parents Mr. and Mrs. Tom Doyle, Doyle, Pottstown Head Coach Mark Fischer, PIAA Official Art Andrey, and Assistant Fooball Coach Hank Coyne. Doyle, who also is a member of the school’s wrestling and track teams, plans to attend college following graduation.
