Alleged Thief Probably Not On Santa’s ‘Good’ List
DOUGLASSVILLE PA – A would-be Grinch has been accused of the alleged theft of high-tech holiday decorations in Amity Township, according to a report Wednesday (Dec. 13, 2017) by its police.
Stefan Salaneck, 32, of Union Township, faces one count of theft by unlawful taking and one count of receiving stolen property stemming from an incident the police department said occurred last week. Salaneck also was arrested on two other active warrants, the department added on its website.
Police said they discovered Salaneck “walking along the side of west Benjamin Franklin Highway, near the intersection of Hill Road,” on Dec. 6 at about 12:27 a.m. They stopped to investigate and found he was carrying two outdoor “laser projector-style Christmas lights.” Both were later reported stolen from the 700 block of Rosewood Drive, they noted.
Salaneck was taken into custody on the outstanding warrants, and later charged with the theft, the report indicated.
