Douglassville Woman Arrested On Theft Charge
DOUGLASSVILLE PA – A 25-year-old Douglassville woman who allegedly took money from a non-profit organization’s fund-raising drive has been arrested and charged with theft in the incident, the Amity Township Police Department reported Thursday (Dec. 14, 2017).
Rachel Fleagle of Arrowhead Drive faces counts of theft by unlawful taking, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance, according to a magisterial district court docket sheet. She also was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant, and was taken into custody without incident, police said.
Department officers were dispatched Monday (Dec. 11) to the Speedway gas station and convenience store, 1028 Benjamin Franklin Hwy., to meet with a witness who reported seeing a female take money from a container that contained customers’ charitable donations to a children’s hospital. The female left the store parking lot in a gold-colored Chevrolet Cobalt, the witness stated.
A vehicle matching the description was later spotted in the parking lot of Rite Aid in the Douglassville Shopping Center, according to police. An investigation there in part resulted in Fleagle’s arrest, they said.
Fleagle is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 31 (2018) before Magisterial District Judge Victor M. Frederick IV.
