With Focus On Park, Community Day Postponed

With Focus On Park, Community Day PostponedSCHWENKSVILLE PA – The borough this year hopes to concentrate its improvement efforts in Main Street’s Meadow Park and the surrounding area, so it’s not planning in 2018 to hold an annual Community Day as was scheduled last May, its website reports. But that doesn’t mean the calendar will be wiped clean of events celebrating the joys of Schwenksville.

There could be more, not fewer, opportunities to promote and enjoy local living, according to its Activity Committee.

“The Borough recognizes the importance of community events and greatly appreciates the participation of area businesses and organizations. We do plan on holding smaller events, including summer concerts, and will be planning a large celebration in 2019 for the 10th anniversary of Community Day. We are seeking ideas for that event, and volunteers to work on planning community activities,” it said.

Got an event or activity idea you want to see come to fruition? Want to help make the borough a destination spot for visitors? Express an interest in joining the committee, it asked. For more information, and to sign up, call borough Secretary Gail Phillips at 610-287-7442, or send her an e-mail to gail@schwenksville-pa.org.
