Area Hospital Designated Level I Trauma Center
READING PA – Reading Hospital, a part of the Tower Health non-profit organization that also operates Pottstown and Phoenixville hopsitals, has been accredited by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation as a Level I Trauma Center, the company announced Tuesday (July 24, 2018).
The accreditation is significant, Tower Health said, because it “means that patients in the region with the most life-threatening injuries will be brought to Reading Hospital.” The trauma center provides multi-disciplinary treatment and specialized resources for trauma patients, conducts trauma research, has a surgical residency program, and treats at least 600 major trauma patients per year, it added.
Reading Hospital is a 714-bed hospital located in West Reading PA.
