New Hanover Investigates Thefts At Windlestrae

NEW HANOVER PA – A series of thefts from vehicles that occurred late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning (July 25-26, 2018) in the Windlestrae housing community off Middle Creek Road is being investigated by the New Hanover Township Police Department, it reported on its Facebook page. Now officers are looking for information on a subject depicted in a video (above) the department has offered for public viewing.

The 56-second black-and-white video footage, which appears to be taken from a home surveillance camera, depicts a young male subject. He first approaches a car in a driveway, tests its door handle, finds it cannot be opened, then walks away from the vehicle and camera as he pulls up a hood on his sweatshirt.

The subject remains in the area, the camera continues to show. He tests the doors of other vehicles a distance beyond the driveway, then walks out of camera-view. As of today (Friday, July 27) at 6 a.m., the video had been shared more than 150 times, and was viewed more than 4,700 times.

The department asks anyone with information about the incidents or the depicted subject to call it at 610-327-1150.
